29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and cables were used as a substitute for fixed wiring of a structure: Warehouse oil storage area: Flexible cord connected to a permanent wall mounted receptacle outlet was used to supply power to a permanently mounted switch used for a pump. Packing area: Employees were exposed to electrical hazards where relocatable power taps (RPTs) energized from permanently mounted receptacle outlets were connected to other RPTs from which various pieces of electrical equipment were powered.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Conventional Milling area: Employees were exposed to hazards created by rotating parts and flying chips where machine # 47 was not guarded. Carousel area: Employees were exposed to hazards created by moving parts where guards were not installed to prevent employee contact with the moving parts. The Carr Lane Manufacturing Co. was previously cited for a repeated violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212 (a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314063553 (OIS Legacy Number 175537), citation number 02, item number 01 and was affirmed as a final order on 08/26/2010, with respect to a workplace located at 4200 Carr Lane Court, St. Louis, MO 63119.
