Employees of Carlos Villanueva were observed nailing plywood on a residential roof, using a pneumatic gun, without any eye or face protection. 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system: (a) On or about October 29, 2014, Carlos Villanueva did not ensure that its employees were protected from falls while working at heights greater than 6 feet. Employees of Carlos Villanueva were exposed to fall hazards in excess of 11 feet while engaged in roofing activities on the roof of a residential building with no fall protection in place. Workers were observed using a ladder to access the roof of a residential building. Ladder did not extend at least 3 ft above the landing platform and was not tied to the roof edge. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
