29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE):    This violation occurred on or about December 16, 2014 when the employer did not assess the workplace to determine what personal protective equipment is required when employees open chemical bottles to be attached to the Sink Rite Double Unit dilution system.    a. Employees open the lid of Super San Food Service Sanitizer and other corrosive and hazardous chemicals without the use of eye or face protection;    b.  Employees open the lid Super San Food Service Sanitizer and other corrosive and hazardous chemicals without the use of appropriate hand protection.

29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes:    This violation occurred on or about December 16, 2014 when the employees cleaning the fryers and grills were not provided appropriate hand protection to protect them from thermal burns.
