29 CFR 1910.101(b): The in-plant handling, storage, and utilization of all compressed gases in cylinders, portable tanks, rail tankcars, or motor vehicle cargo tanks were not in accordance with Compressed Gas Association Pamphlet P-1-1965, which is incorporated by reference as specified in CFR 1910.6: a) Oxygen storage closet: Oxygen cylinders were stored next to Benzomatic propane cylinders, on or about 1/12/15. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19. NOTE: Compressed Gas Association Pamphlet P-1 1965 section 3.5.3 specifically states " Do not store reserve stocks of cylinders containing flammable gases with cylinders containing oxygen. They should be segregated. Inside of buildings, stored oxygen and fuel gas cylinders should be separated by a minimum of 20 feet, or there should be a fire-resistive partition between the oxygen and fuel gas cylinders. This in in accordance with NFPA Standard No. 51. "gas Systems for Welding and Cutting.""
