29 CFR 1910.147(f)(3)(i): A procedure was not utilized to afford the employees a level of protection equivalent to that provided by the implementation of a personal lockout or tagout device when servicing and/or maintenance was performed by a crew, craft, department or other group:  Machine operators perform servicing on Bottle Filling Lines #2 through #6 such as cleaning on a daily basis.  During the cleaning process employees are exposed to the unexpected startup of the equipment, such as but not limited to, the startup of the conveyor.  Maintenance employees were isolating and locking out energy sources on behalf of these employees and thus they were not afforded a level of protection equivalent to that provided by the implementation of a personal lockout or tagout device during the cleaning operations.  This item was corrected during inspection.
