OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):   Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a crushing and amputation from unintended activation:      a) The Production Work Area: On or about February 3, 2015, an employee used a Challenge 3-Hole Drill which had a pedal/foot control that was not protected to prevent unintended operation, exposed the operator/employee to a point-of-operation hazard.  Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to guard the foot treadle.
