Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized struck-by hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees: (a) This violation occurred on or about March 16, 2015, and at times prior thereto; when the employer, by not designing and constructing the patio cover frame connections to resist applied loads, exposed employees to struck-by hazards created during the collapse of the structure.
