29 CFR 1910.106(e)(2)(iii): "Separation and protection." Areas in which flammable liquids are transferred from one tank or container to another container shall be separated from other operations in the building by adequate distance or by construction having adequate fire resistance. Drainage or other means shall be provided to control spills. Adequate natural or mechanical ventilation shall be provided: a) Lab staff pour waste Acetonitrile (Class 2 flammable liquid) from jugs into a 55-gal storage drum in the back hall to await pick-up by contract disposal company. No means of spill containment or drainage is provided for the drum of flammable waste. Condition(s) were noted on or about 3/27/2015.

29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: a) Analytical Lab technician(s) prepare acid dilutions from concentrated Acetic Acid and Phosphoric Acid within the fume hood(s). No eyewash was available in the immediate area for emergency flushing / rinsing of the eyes in the event of an acid splash; exposing technician(s) to the hazard of eye damage from corrosive action of acids. Condition(s) were noted on or about 3/27/2015.
