Hazards included projectiles to the eyes from wheels, tire irons, and wrenches; the potential for rims to fall on employees' feet; and the chemical hazards of the Dowflake Xtra 83-87% Calcium Chloride Flakes used in preparing the lubricant for the tires.  Condition exposed employees to physical and chemical hazards.  Abatement note:  29 CFR 1910.132(d)(2) requires the employer to verify that a job hazard assessment has been done through a written certification.

In addition, new employees worked in the shop during the summer before taking the Tire Industry Association (TIA) training in the winter.
