29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  a. 37 Stonehouse Road, Basking Ridge, NJ   Employees performing commercial framing activities from the second level were not protected from falls by use of a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system.  Employees were observed walking the center beam and exterior wall top plates, while installing joists without the use of fall protection.   Violation observed on or about September 8, 2015

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed:   a. 37 Stonehouse Road, Berkley Heights, NJ  Employees engaged in commercial framing activities used a Werner extension ladder for access to the joists and beams that was not extended at least 3-feet above the landing surface. 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(13): The top or top step of a stepladder was used as a step:       a. 37 Stonehouse Road, Basking Ridge, NJ         Employees engaged in commercial framing activities used the top step of an A-frame stepladder to perform their work. Employees were observed using the top tow steps of a 6 foot A-frame ladder while installing joists.   Violation observed on or about September 8, 2015
