One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices,electronic safety devices, etc. a. In the production area on extrusion line 2, the screen changer was inadequately guarded when performing a screen change. On or about November 13, 2015 molten plastic sprayed from the screen changer as a cylinder was being moved out, resulting in 2nd and 3rd degree burns to the forearms of the operator.
