29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  a) Better Baked Foods, Inc. / 2200 East 38th Street, Erie, PA: On or about November 17, 2015, machine guarding in the form of an emergency stop device or similar, were not in place on all areas of the 90 area and the Quantum conveyor system.  An employees arm was caught in a conveyor system and required assistance from other employees to stop the machine.  b) Better Baked Foods, Inc. / 2200 East 38th Street, Erie, PA: On or about November 23, 2015 employees were exposed to rotating parts associated with the ends of the rollers used on the food grade Quantum conveyor system linking the Quantum to the 90. The rotating rollers were approximately 39-1/4 inches from ground level to center of rollers located at each end of the conveyor system.

29 CFR 1910.219(c)(2)(ii): Shafting under bench machines was not enclosed by a stationary casing, or by a trough at sides and top or sides and bottom, as location required  a) Better Baked Foods, Inc. / 2200 East 38th Street, Erie, PA: On or about November 23, 2015 employees were exposed to rotating parts of shaft ends at the center drive conveyor between the Quantum and the 90. Employees are at the work area during equipment inspection after cleaning and sanitizing as well as periodic food quality inspection while in operation.
