29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazards created by: a) Blanching Area, Building PB1, on or about 11-30-2015, the employer failed to provide appropriate guards to protect employees working with and around the bucket elevators/vertical conveyors from nip points where the buckets pass through the metal floor on the way down, exposing them to foot injuries, including fractures. b) Blanching Area, Building PB1, on or about 11-30-2015, the employer failed to provide appropriate guards to protect employees working with and around the bucket elevator/vertical conveyors from nip points where the chain pass near the metal guide on the way up, exposing them to hand injuries, including lacerations and fractures. c) Blanching Area, Building PB1, on or about 11-30-2015, the employer failed to provide appropriate guards to protect employees working with and around the horizontal conveyor from nip points where the conveyor belt meet the drive pulley, exposing them to foot injuries, including fractures.
