29 CFR 1910.22(d)(1): On every building or other structure, or part thereof, used for mercantile, business, industrial or storage purposes, the loads approved by the building official were not marked on plates of approved design and securely affixed in a conspicuous place in each space to which they relate.    a). On 18 December 2015 at Platte County Ready Mix at 15475 Knighton Ave. Platte City, MO: The employer failed to properly identify and clearly mark required load limits on the over head storage above the maintenance shop break room and shelf on the south wall where employees worked under. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards.    Abatement certification is not required for this violation.

On 18 December 2015 at Platte County Ready Mix at 15475 Knighton Ave. Platte City, MO;  The employer exposed employees to electrical shock hazards in that they were using damaged flexible cords to plug in engine block heaters on cement mixer trucks and loading equipment, in wet outdoor areas.    Abatement certification is required for this violation.

29 CFR 1910.305(j)(2)(v): A receptacle installed outdoors in a location not protected from the weather or in other damp locations did not have an enclosure for the receptacle that was weatherproof when the receptacle was covered attachment plug cap not inserted and receptacle covers closed.    a) On 18 December 2015 at Platte County Ready Mix at 15475 Knighton Ave. Platte City, MO. The employer exposed employees to electrical shock hazards by not having covers on electrical receptacles where the employees plugged in the engine heaters to the cement mixer trucks and loaders.    Abatement certification is required for this violation.
