29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE):  Employees performing tasks such as feeding and maintaining aquatic environments were exposed to injury from aquatic animal bites.  The employer did not evaluate the workplace to discover the types of hazards employees would be exposed to, such as animal bites, and evaluate ways to minimize exposure to the bite hazard through the use of personal protective equipment.
