29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.      On the west side of the construction site, an employee was engaged in painting activities from an air foil overhang without fall protection.  The employee was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 9 feet to the ground.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(13): The top or top step of a stepladder was used as a step.       On the west side of the construction site, an employee used the top step of an A-frame ladder to access and egress the airfoil overhang to perform painting activities.  The employee was exposed to a fall hazard of up to 9 feet.
