29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): a) Southern Pines Senior Living Center, Maysville, GA- Employees such as, but are not limited to, Proxy Care Givers, were not provided "shower boots" to wear to protect their feet from exposure to water, fecal matter and blood that may be present when they are required to shower residents. The employer did not conduct an assessment to determine the type of hazards located at the jobsite and the appropriate personal protective equipment to be utilized, on or about 12/15/15. b) Southern Pines Senior Living Center, Maysville, GA - Employees such as, but are not limited to, Proxy Care Givers, (jobs include feeding, bathing, laundry care, changing bed pads, cooking and housekeeping) were potentially exposed to splashes from blood, body fluids, and other potentially-infectious materials (OPIM). The employer did not conduct an assessment to determine the type of personal protective equipment such as, but are not limited to gowns, shoe covers, etc. whenever touching or exposure to patients' body fluids is anticipated, on or about 12/01/15.
