29 CFR 1926.25(a): During the course of construction, alteration, or repairs, debris was not kept cleared from work areas, passageways, and stairs, in and around buildings or other structures:  a) Worksite, 50 Spring St. New York, NY - Employees were observed walking and working on stairs between the third and fourth floors of the building. The stairs had accumulated construction debris and other discarded materials; on or about 1/19/16.  Note:   Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.26: Construction areas, aisles, stairs, ramps, runways, corridors, offices, shops, and storage areas where work is in progress was not lighted with either natural or artificial illumination:  a) Worksite, 50 Spring St. New York, NY - Employees were observed using stairs between the ground and second floors of the building. The stairs were not artificially lit and there was virtually no natural light in the stairway; on or about 1/19/16.  Note:   Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(ii): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with a stairrail system along each unprotected side or edge:  a) Worksite, 50 Spring St. New York, NY - Employees were using a staircase without a stairrail system on the unprotected sides between third and fourth floors of the building; on or about 1/19/16.     Note: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.
