On or about March 25, 2016 at the end of El Varadero, employees were exposed to fire hazards while constructing a sump pump station where vehicles, power industrial trucks and boats were in the vicinity and no fire extinguishers were available or provided in case of a sudden fire. 29 CFR 1926.404(b)(1)(ii): On a construction site, where an assured equipment grounding program was not utilized, all 120-volt, single-phase, 15 and 20 ampere receptacle outlets which were not a part of the permanent wiring of the building or structure and which are in use by employees did not have approved ground fault circuit interrupters for personal protection: a) On or about March 25, 2016, at the end of El Varadero, employees engaged in the construction of a sump pump station were exposed to an electrical shock hazard of 120 volts from using a portable power drill and circular saw via extension cord without a working GFCI. b) On or about March 25, 2016, employees engaged in the construction of a sump pump station were exposed to an electrical shock hazard of 120 volts from using a portable circular saw via extension cord without a working GFCI. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item since it was submitted prior to citation issuance.
