The employer had not complied with the provisions of 29 CFR 1926.652(b)(1)(i) in that that:  WORKSITE: The employees working in an excavation measuring 55 feet 10 inches long by between five (5) feet and seven (7) feet 6 inches deep were not protected from cave-ins by utilizing appropriate cave-in protection devices and/or methods.
