29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(iii): Special hand tools for placing and removing material(s) shall be such as to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone. Such tools shall not be in lieu of other guarding required by this section, but can only be used to supplement protection provided:  a) On or about 3/16/16, Piece Parts Department: Employees were provided with hand tools for placing and removing materials from the point of operation. The hand tools for placing and removing material in the danger zone were used in lieu of guarding. The employer did not ensure Pneumatic Press #00643 equipped with two-hand actuation trip levers was guarded to prevent employees from having any part of their body enter into the danger zone during the operation cycle.   Note:  In addition to abatement certification the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
