29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by ingoing nip points, moving parts, and rotating parts: a) maintenance shop at Chase Manufacturing in Corry, PA. On or about April 7, 2016, the unused portion of the saw blade and the nip points created by the blade guide wheels were not guarded on the on the Work-A-Matic vertical band saw. In addition, the saw blade was not equipped with any guarding to adjust to the size of the material being cut on the saw.
