29 CFR 1926.451(g)(4)(xv): Crossbracing used in place of a midrail was unacceptable because the crossing point of two braces is between 20 inches (0.5 m) and 30 inches ((0.8 M) above the work platform or as a toprail when the crossing point of two braces is not between 20 inches (0.5 m) and 30 inches (0.8 m) above the work platform or as a toprail when the crossing point of two braces is between 38 inches (0.97 m) and 48 inches (1.3 m) above the work platform. The endpoints at each upright were more than 48 inches (1.3 m) apart. Site: 256 Mott Street New York, NY On or about 5/10 16 a) Employees working on a tubular welded frame scaffold were exposed to falling approximately 11 feet. The cross braces used as means of fall protection did not meet the standard requirements and no other form of fall protection was being use.
