29 CFR 1910.1027(k)(1): Surfaces were not maintained as free as practicable of accumulations of cadmium:  (a) The employer is failing to protect employees from toxic substance hazards associated with surface accumulations of cadmium. This was most recently documented on or about May 26, 2016. Surfaces with accumulations of cadmium were found in the following instances:  (1) A 100 square centimeter wipe sample was taken on the work bench in the welding room. Cadmium was present at 2.86 micrograms.   (2) A 100 square centimeter wipe sample was taken on the work bench in the CNC area. Cadmium was present at 1.32 micrograms.

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met:  (a) The employer is failing to develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met, in that the hazard communication program does not incorporate the requirements of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), including but not limited to Safety Data Sheet (SDS) formats, label elements/pictograms, and training on these items. Employees are exposed to hazardous chemicals and substances including but not limited to welding rods, electrodes, and metal alloys containing lead, chromium, copper, nickel, and antimony. These substances generate toxic dusts and fumes when employees engage in cutting, grinding, and welding operations.

Employees are exposed to hazardous chemicals and substances including but not limited to welding rods, electrodes, and metal alloys containing lead, chromium, copper, nickel, and antimony.
