29 CFR 1917.154: Compressed air used for cleaning exceeded a pressure of 30 p.s.i. Maintenance Bay: On or about 27 June 2016 and times prior thereto, an air nozzle used for cleaning purposes exceeded 30 p.s.i. Air nozzle measured approximately 80 psi. Air nozzle was not equipped with deflector to reduce the pressure of air flow. This exposed employees to foreign objects being embedded to the body and eyes.

29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords and cables were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief was provided that would prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws. Bay Board Room: On or about 27 June 2016 and times prior thereto, a 50 foot yellow extension cord had damage to the conductors due to lack of strain relief. This condition exposed employees to an electrical shock and burn hazard. The U.S. Coast Guard was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.305(g)(2)(iii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 500878, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 09/12/20127), with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Coast Guard Base Ketchikan.
