Such programs would support the employer and employees in identifying and avoiding potential hazards such as falls during job site operations, decreasing the probability of employee injury and/or illness.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  a)      On September 9, 2016, at the address of 15366 State Route 190,  Kenton, OH: The employer did not ensure employees were protected from falls while performing roofing activities atop a residential pole type structure.  During this activity, employees were exposed to falls up to 20 ft. to the ground below.

29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Employees on scaffolds more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level were not protected from falling to that lower level by fall protection established in paragraphs (g)(1)(i)-(vii) of this section:    a)      On or about September 9, 2016, at the address of 15366 State Route 190, Kenton, OH: The employer did not ensure employees were protected from a fall while working from a forklift supported scaffold. The employees utilizing the platform to access the roof level and to fasten siding material without any fall protection in place were exposed to a falls up to 20 ft. to the ground below.
