29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1):  Employers shall provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. Information and training may be designed to cover categories of hazards (e.g., flammability, carcinogenicity) or specific chemicals. Chemical-specific information must always be available through labels and safety data sheets.    (a) Economy Asphalt & Concrete Services, LLC, 4100 E. Mexico Ave., Denver, CO 80222: On and before September 26, 2016, the employer did not provide employees with effective information and training on their potential exposure to silica while conducting concrete demolition operations. 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(2):  Eye and face protective equipment being used did not meet the requirements specified in ANSI Z87.1-1968.        (a) Economy Asphalt & Concrete Services, LLC, 4100 E. Mexico Ave., Denver, CO 80222: On and before September 26, 2016,  the employer did not ensure that an employee conducting concrete demolition was provided with eye protection. The employee was wearing glasses with corrective lenses that did not meet the requirements of ANSI Z87.1-1968. The condition exposed an employee to eye hazards.      Abatement Note:  1926.28(a) also provides that the employer is responsible for requiring the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment in all operations where there is an exposure to hazardous conditions or where this part indicates the need for using such equipment to reduce the hazards to the employees.
