29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt was not worn and/or a lanyard was not attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift: Note: As of January 1, 1998, subpart M of this part (1926.502(d)) provides that body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system. The use of a body belt in a tethering system or in a restraint system is acceptable and is regulated: a) At the jobsite: An employee was taking measurements of a pole barn under construction while he was in the platform of the Genie TZ-50 Trailer Mounted Boom Lift about 17 feet high without appropriate fall protection, as observed on or about October 6, 2016. CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): a) At the jobsite: Employees installed metal roof sheets onto a pole barn about 18 feet above ground level without the use of appropriate fall protection. Employees were exposed to fall hazards as observed on or about October 6, 2016. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
