OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries in the event of a hydraulic or mechanical failure while using automotive lifts in the workplace.  a) Establishment: 281 US 46 East Denville, NJ (Automotive Bay)   The employer assigned employees to utilize an automotive lift with defective components which compromise the lift ability to keep automobiles elevated. Employees utilize the lift to pick up vehicles and conduct maintenance work in close proximity to them.    Violation occurred on or about 10/21/2016   b) Establishment: 281 US 46 East Denville, NJ (Automotive Bay)   Automotive lifts were not inspected in accordance with manufacturer specifications contained in the Benwil Lift owner/operator manual.  Violation occurred on or about 10/13/2016

The noted records were not provided to OSHA 20 business days later on 11/31/2016 .  Violation occurred on or about 10/21/2016
