29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): The point of operation of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury, was not guarded. The guarding device was not in conformity with any appropriate standards therefore, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle.    At the jobsite located 369 East North Service Road, Wright City, Missouri, the employer did not provide a guard to ensure employee(s) were not exposed to the pulley system of a Koch Scalder/Dehairer (Model No.  100255; Serial No.  2M0828). The unguarded area left a gap mearsuing approximately 12 inches (L) x 8.6 inches (W).

29 CFR 1910.219(d)(1): Guarding. Pulleys, any parts of which are seven (7) feet or less from the floor or working platform, were notguarded in accordance with the standards specified in paragraphs (m) and (o) of this section. Pulleys serving as balance wheels (e.g., punch presses) on which the point of contact between belt and pulley is more than six feet six inches (6 ft. 6 in.) from the floor or platform may be guarded with a disk covering the spokes.   At the jobsite located 369 East North Service Road, Wright City, Missouri, the employer did not provide guarding to protect operators from injury at the point of operation of a Hobart Meat Saw (Hobart Corporation, Troy, Ohio:  Model No. 5801; Serial No.  27-1097-885).  The unguarded blade measured approximately 11 inches.
