Employees were exposed to fall hazards of more than six feet to the ground below.

Employees were exposed to fall hazards of more than six feet.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed:    On or about February 21, 2017, employees were working on the roof of a residential home using a portable ladder to access the roof but the side rails of the ladder were not at least three feet above the landing. The employees were exposed to fall hazards of greater than six feet to the ground below.
