29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets.    On or about February 21, 2017, employees performing framing operations at a residential property were exposed to struck by hazards when employees worked on two different levels when the employer failed to mandate the use of hard hats.    No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.    On or about February 21, 2017, employees were exposed to eye injuries when the employer failed to ensure employees utilized eye protection while operating power tools.    No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.     On or about February 21, 2017, employees performing framing operations at a residential property were exposed to fall hazards of 22.4' while working from the second level with no fall protection when the employer failed to ensure fall protection was utilized.    The employer was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 943857, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on November 16, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 4222 Rose Ave., Western Springs, Illinois 60558.    No abatement certification or documentation is not required for this item.
