29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and  Employees engaged in metal fabrication activities within the shop were exposed to work place hazards in that guarding was not provided to protect the operator.      a.) Employees engaged in machining parts activities, located at the east wall of the shop were exposed to struck by hazards in that the Sharp lathe chuck was not guarded.  b.) Employees engaged in cutting metal activities, located at the north side of the shop were exposed to laceration and amputation hazards in that the Ridgid horizontal band saw was not guarded.   c.) Employees engaged in cutting metal activities, located at the south wall of the shop were exposed to laceration and amputation hazards in that the Brilliant chop saw did not have a lower guard.
