29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.  On or about March 31, 2017, employees using a pneumatic nail gun was exposed to eye injuries when the employer did not mandate the use of eye protection while using power tools.  Abatement certification is required in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13):  Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet(1.8m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail system, safety net system,  nor  were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501(b).  On or about March 31, 2017, employees performing residential roofing operations were exposed to fall hazards greater than 25 feet and the employer did not ensure employees were utilizing any means of fall protection.  Carlos Albarran dba Carlos Albarran Construction was previously cited serious for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 467058 citation number 1 item 1, and was affirmed as a final order on August 20, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at 1916 East State St., Rockford, IL  No abatement documentation or certification required for this item.
