29 CFR 1926.1052(a)(3): Riser height and tread depth shall be uniform within each flight of stairs, including any foundation structure used as one or more treads of the stairs. Variations in riser height or tread depth shall not be over 1/4-inch (0.6 cm) in any stairway system.  a. Located at the main contractor entrance to the building located at 358 Mount Vernon Avenue in Columbus, Ohio: On or about May 4, 2017 and at times prior, employees were exposed to a trip and fall hazard as result of a wooden stairway with a damaged bottom tread and a bottom riser height that was not uniform to the upper stairs. The employer did not ensure that employees were provided with a safe means to access to and from the building.
