29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:    (a)  1195 River Road Marietta, PA 17547 -The employer did not ensure that employees working on the 2nd floor preparing to lay block, were protected from falls, with guard rails, safety nets or personal fall protection, thereby exposing employees to a fall hazard of approximately 18 feet, on or about May 3, 2017.        (b)  1195 River Road Marietta, PA 17547 -The employer did not ensure that employees working on the 2nd floor moving the scaffold to lay block, were protected from falls, with guard rails, safety nets or personal fall protection, thereby exposing employees to a fall hazard of approximately 18 feet, on or about May 4, 2017.        No abatement certification or documentation is required.    Witmer Masonry Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard CFR 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 903801, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on May 29, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 2102 Harrisburg Pike Lancaster PA 17601.
