29 CFR 1910.36(d)(1): Employees must be able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times without keys, tools, or special knowledge. A device such as a panic bar that locks only from the outside is permitted on exit discharge doors.    a) Near the loading dock at the rear of the facility on the South side of the building: The exit door located in the equipment storage area was locked preventing safe egress in the event of an emergency; thus exposing employees to fire hazards.    b) Near the loading dock at the rear of the facility on the North side of the building.: The exit door from the painting area was locked preventing safe egress in the event of an emergency; thus exposing employees to fire hazards.
