29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch:  a) Machine Shop Area Right Side: On or about June 9, 2017 and times prior, employees used a Dayton 10" abrasive bench grinder (Mod: 2LKT2  Lot #2009.06) to sharpen tools and drill bits.  The grinder did not have the adjustable tongue guard on the right side adequately adjusted resulting in a 1 inch opening between the abrasive wheel and the tongue guard.   b) Machine Shop Area Left Side: On or about June 9, 2017 and times prior, employees used a Dayton 10" abrasive bench grinder (Mod: 2LKT2  Lot #2009.06) to sharpen tools and drill bits.  The grinder did not have the adjustable tongue guard on the left side adequately adjusted resulting in a 3/4 inch opening between the abrasive wheel and the tongue guard.
