29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:   On or about July 13, 2017, and at times prior thereto, employees were allowed to operate machines that were found not having guards provided, including but not limited to the following instances:     1) At the press brake area, press brakes were operated via  foot pedal without guarding provided on the front and the sides to protect operator and other employees from point-of-operation.    2) At the shear area, a shear was operated without a blade guard provided to protect employees from contacting the blade while in operation.     3) At the roller area, a roller was operated without the tripwire provided in the back side of the machine.       Employees were exposed to possible amputation and crushing hazards.
