29 CFR 1926.403(b)(1): The employer shall ensure that electrical equipment is free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. Safety of equipment shall be determined on the basis of the following considerations: Classification by type, size, voltage, current capacity, specific use. At north end of the building the yellowish/orange AWG 16/3 extension cord was providing power a hand held circular saw. The cord was curled - presenting signs of having been overloaded. Employees were exposed to the hazard of contacting a damaged cord which may present a burn and/or shock hazard.

29 CFR 1926.405(g)(2)(iv): Flexible cords were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief is provided to prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws : On the north end of the building the employer did not ensure that the male plug of the AWG 16/3 yellowish orange flexible cord was properly attached to the cord. The employee was exposed to a shock hazard.
