29 CFR 1926.850(a): An engineering survey was not performed by a competent person to determine the conditions of the framing floors and walls and the possibility of unplanned collapse of any portion of the structure prior to permitting employees to start demolition operations:  On or about September 17, 2017, at the above addressed jobsite, an engineering survey was not available for the demolition of a concrete wall that supported a stairway, exposing a worker in the adjacent area to a struck-by hazard.   NOTE: CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.

29 CFR 1926.851(a): The employer did not ensure that access ways other than those designated by the employer as stairways, passageways and ladders as means of access to the structure(s) of a building were entirely closed at all times:  On or about September 17, 2017, at the above addressed jobsite, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard when gaining access to the landings of a building from a partially demolished concrete stairway.   NOTE: CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
