29 CFR 1910.124(g)(2): Employees who worked with liquids that could burn, irritate, or otherwise harm their skin were not provided with an emergency shower and eye-wash station close to the dipping and coating operation: a) Cleaning Tank Area, on or about October 19, 2017 - The employer did not provide an emergency shower and eye-wash station close to the dip tank area which is used for cleaning operations. Employees work with sulfuric acid and sodium metabisulfite which are corrosive liquids that can cause skin and eye burns. ABATEMENT NOTE: The ANSI Eyewash Z358.1-2014 states that all flushing equipment must be located in areas that are accessible within 10 seconds. In addition, safety showers and eyewash stations must be located on the same level as the hazard and the path of travel shall be free from obstructions.
