OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards due to a collapsing structure:     a) On or about 1/23/2018, 2787 Lyons Road, at the construction site: Employees were working underneath a roof structure consisting of wooden trusses, wooden purlins and metal sheathing.  The roof structure was not adequately secured to the walls of the structure to prevent uplift.      Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct the hazard is to:         1) Install Screwed connections, metal anchors, metal ties or metal straps between the truss's and the top plate of the wall per  Building Component Safety Information (BCSI) pg 68, as referenced in the truss erections sheets provided at the time of delivery.        2) Utilize A Registered Building Designer to determine bracing and load transfer elements as is referenced in Building Component Safety Information (BCSI) pg 3 and pg 32.          3) Install anchorage from the roof to the walls to resist uplift forces as referenced in section 1604.8 of the International Building Code adopted by New York State.
