29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2): Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of iron oxide fume listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8 hour Time Weighted Average concentration of 10 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3) :  (a)  On February 1, 2018, an employee was exposed to iron oxide fume at an eight hour time weighted average (TWA) of 12.21 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3) of air for the 382 minute sampling period with a value of zero added for the 98 minutes not sampled, when the employee was blasting a barge while testing a new Hyper Venturi size 8 blast nozzle.  This exposure was the equivalent of 122% of the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit.     In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.  This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
