29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    (a) On or about January 25, 2018 and at times prior thereto employees in the blacksmith area were exposed to caught-in and amputation hazards while using an unguarded Buffalo Forge Co. drill press;    (b) On or about January 9, 2018 and at times prior thereto employees in the blacksmith area were exposed to caught-in and amputation hazards while using an unguarded Cincinnati drill press.

29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch:     (a) On January 29, 2018 and at times prior thereto the left hand tongue/safety guard on the top side of the Norton grinder was not kept within ¼ of an inch of the wheel, exposing employees in the blacksmith area to struck by hazards;     (b) On January 29, 2018 and at times prior thereto the right hand side of the Norton grinder did not contain a tongue/safety guard, exposing employees in the blacksmith area to struck by hazards.
