On or about February 9, 2018, an employee was leveling an exterior restaurant sign from the steps of a Werner eight foot step ladder. The ladder was not used as designed, self-supporting, as that legs of the ladder were collapsed and the ladder was leaned against the wall, thereby exposing the employee to a fall hazard.

29 CFR 1926.1060(b): Retraining shall be provided for each employee as necessary so that the employee maintains the understanding and knowledge acquired through compliance with this section.    a. On or about February 9, 2018, an employee was leveling an exterior restaurant sign from the steps of a Werner eight foot step ladder. The ladder was not used as designed, self-supporting, as that legs of the ladder were collapsed and the ladder was leaned against the wall. The employee lacked understanding of the correct use of the ladder type.
