29 CFR 1910.106(e)(9)(iii): Combustible waste material and residues in a building or unit operating area were not kept to a minimum, stored in covered metal receptacles and disposed of daily:      a) On or about February 5, 2018 and at times prior, employees were exposed to fire hazards from several soiled rags that were stored in a plastic bag at the lower bay area. The soiled rags were not stored in a covered metal container.    Griffin Fast Lube LLC, dba Jiffy Lube was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.106(e)(9)(iii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1132388, citation number 1, item number 1c and was affirmed as a final order on April 18, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 4075 N. Academy Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80917.

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8):   The employer did not maintain in the workplace copies of the required safety data sheets for each hazardous chemical, and did not ensure that they were readily accessible during each work  shift to employees when they were in their work area(s):      a) On or about February 5, 2018 and at times prior, the employer did not have a safety data sheets available for Pentosin CHF 202 and Prestone DOT3, which are used by the employees in the bay area which contains petroleum distillates and triethylene glycol monobutyl ether respectively. Petroleum distillates are flammable and can cause skin irritation and dizziness. Triethylene glycol monobutyl ether contains antifreeze and can cause skin irritation and damage to the kidneys.

Maintenance check includes an internal examination, except extinguishers with stored pressure:      a) On or about February 5, 2018 and at times prior, a portable fire extinguisher at the lower bay area did not have an annual maintenance date. The portable fire extinguisher was not annually maintained by the employer.
