29 CFR 1926.451(b)(1)(i): Each platform on all working levels of scaffolds was not fully planked or decked between the front uprights and the guardrail supports so that the space between adjacent units and the space between the platform and the uprights is no more than 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide, except where the employer can demonstrate that a wider space is necessary (for example, to fit around uprights when side brackets are used to extend the width of the platform). a) On or about February 28, 2018; rear of residential home; the working platform of the scaffold system was not fully planked leaving an estimated 36-inch opening in which the employee could fall 14-feet to ground level. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
