The belt and pulley apparatus which is housed on the wooden topper machine was unguarded which is approximately 4 feet from ground level, in close proximity to where the operator stands, on or about 03/27/18.

29 CFR 1910.213(h)(1): The upper hood did not completely enclose the upper portion of the Blade; and/or was not constructed in such a manner and of such material that it will protect the operator; and/or the sides of the lower exposed portion of the blade was not guarded to the full diameter of the blade as required: a. 4760 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Berkeley Lake, GA (Shop Area) - Employees were exposed to struck-by hazard. Employees are operating the Delta Radial Arm Saw to cut pickets at the top of the wooden post. The lower guard was missing and/or removed from the Delta Radial Arm Saw, exposing employees to coming in contact with the moving exposed blade, on or about 03/27/18. b. 4760 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Berkeley Lake, GA (Shop Area) - Employees were exposed to struck-by hazard. Employees are operating the Ridgid Radial Arm Saw to making cuts on the wooden material. The part of the upper hood guard is being tied back to the frame of the saw, exposing employees to coming in contact with the moving exposed blade, on or about 03/27/18. c. 4760 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Berkeley Lake, GA (Shop Area) - Employees were exposed to struck-by hazard. Employees are operating the DeWalt Radial Arm Saw to make cut pipes for the post uprights. The part of the upper hood guard is being tied back to the frame of the saw, exposing employees to coming in contact with the moving exposed blade, on or about 03/27/18. -
