29 CFR 1926.59: NOTE: The requirements applicable to construction work under this section are identical to those set forth at 29 CFR 1910.1200 of this chapter.  29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8): The employer did not ensure that Safety Data Sheets were readily accessible during each work shift to employees when they were in their work area(s)  a) On or about April 26, 2018, Era Valdivia Contractors, Inc. did not ensure that Safety Data Sheets were readily accessible at 3400 W. Higgins Rd. Hoffman Estates, IL 60169. Employees were priming and painting the east standpipe. Employees were exposed to talc, titanium oxide, crystalline silica (quartz), xylene, propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate, methyl ethyl ketone as components of the primers and paints used including, Tnemec 91-H2O, 73 part A & B, FC22 part A & B, and N140 part A & B. Employees were also exposed to chemical used for mixing and cleaning including, methyl isobutyl ketone, xylene, and ethylbenzene.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
